Advanced Info Service (AIS) has been appointed Microsoft's Exclusive Strategic Partner in Thailand, aiming to deploy tech innovation from world-class cloud services on Thailand's best network to help business and industrial sectors effectively transform digitally.

In the latest developments, AIS is the first operator in Thailand to roll out Operator Connect for Microsoft Teams. These services level up corporate internal and external communications by combining a conventional telephone exchange with cloud technology on Microsoft Teams.

The system also supports both internal and external calls to remove previous limitations while cutting costs on maintaining automatic exchanges and installing telephone cables. It can meet business needs regardless of time or place as a hybrid service in the age of “working anywhere.”

Head of AIS Business, Tanapong Ittisakulchai, explained, "Corporate working trends are moving towards a hybrid model in which employees can work on the road at times that they please. Work processes, particularly internal and external communications, require digital tools to assist Remote Working systems, and the collaboration between AIS and Microsoft is focused on catering to changed working formats.

“From this requirement was born Operator Connect for Microsoft Teams, a communications service enabling calls to fixed lines or mobiles, internally and externally to the organization, easily through Microsoft Teams. Many companies are now familiar with this communications platform for functions such as online meeting appointments, document revision and chat rooms for work-related discussions, or even connections to other apps. Microsoft Teams user engagement keeps growing, having doubled and tripled during the COVID situation.”

Ittisakulchai shared that AIS believes the service will bring significant change to conventional communication systems, adding that “From previously requiring fixed phone lines and the installation of Private Branch Exchanges (PBX), any company's internal telephone exchanges can be moved to the Cloud. This enables industrial enterprises of medium to large scale to cut costs on running in telephone cables, the cost of devices and even maintenance. It is possible to order for a large number of users as required. Most importantly, it solves the dilemma of hybrid working, enabling any communication to occur at any time and any place, with greater speed and efficiency. It will promote new capabilities in work processes running on the 5G network for the assured growth of our enterprise customers."
