Shanthi Ravindran, Appledore Research, previews the Asian edition of FutureNet World in Singapore, 18-19 October, 2023

FutureNet World, now in its fifth year, is heralded as a truly unique conference in the Asia-Pacific region — one solely dedicated to the topic of Automation in Telecom. The event serves as a platform where major telecommunications companies from countries such as Japan, Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, Indonesia and Sri Lanka come together, along with the key vendors supporting them.

FutureNet Asia in Singapore, taking place on October 18-19, 2023, aims to bring together players in the telecom industry for discussions on automation. The conference will cover topics such as business opportunities, technologies, operating models and the journey towards cloud-native infrastructure with automation and artificial intelligence.

It will feature CxO-level views from major CSPs in the region, including Singtel Group, Bridge Alliance, AIS, Globe Group, Axiata Group, M1, MyRepublic, Telstra, Telenor, Telkomsel, Starhub, Telekom Malaysia, NTT Docomo, BT Group, Rakuten, Spark New Zealand and Sri Lanka Telecom.

The conference will consist of various sessions on topics such as future telcos, network as a service, 5G and edge, new operating models, investment trends in network automation and network modernization. Several sessions with industry leaders will discuss various topics related to the future of telecommunications and network technology:

Day 1 – Conference is opened by Dr. Ong Geok Chwee, CEO, Bridge Alliance, and has four sessions:

Session 1: CxO Keynote – Beyond Connectivity & the Future Telco – Redefining the Telco (Globe Group, Axiata, Singtel Enterprise Business and Amdocs), Networks of the Future and How to Get There (Amdocs), Telco to TechCo (Telenor Asia, AWS and VMware).

Day 2 – Appledore presents its view of the investment trends in Network Automation; this is an indication of the volume of transformations that the industry has invested in.
