Telenor Group has appointed Irfan Khan as their CEO in Pakistan and the head for its Emerging Asian division.

In a statement by the Norway-based operator, it was stated that Khan will be their new Executive Vice President as a result of being appointed as THE HEAD OF Emerging Asia and is expected to report directly to the CEO and president Sigve Brekke.

The plan is for him to continue as CEO of Telenor Pakistan following his three year role as deputy CEO and CMO of the organization. Khan has been working at Telenor for a total of 14 years where he occupied several positions in both Europe and Asia.

Telenor CEO Brekke said he felt that Khan would make a successful CEO and he would be equally successful in his other role as head of Emerging Asia which covers more than 130 million customers.

Current EVP and head of Emerging Asia, peter-Borre Furberg will become Telenor’s CEO in Norway.

Telenor deals with operations in Pakistan, Thailand, Bangladesh, Mynamar and Malaysia at the moment in Asia.
