Bharti Airtel, India's leading telecom service provider, has won the Digital India Corporation's (DIC) Cloud and CDN mandate. This collaboration would strengthen DIKSHA (Digital Infrastructure for Knowledge Sharing), India's national platform for digital open education resources. The DIC is run by the Government of India's Ministry of Education (MoE).

With this vital mandate, Airtel will serve as the trusted partner in charge of thoroughly managing DIKSHA's online platforms. Airtel will use its Cloud infrastructure to run both the DIKSHA mobile application and website, enabling nationwide access for students. The alliance intends to deliver free educational content in several Indian languages, making it easier for students to access the platform, particularly those in distant places. Airtel will also lead DIKSHA's move to Oracle Cloud and provide managed services as well as CDN solutions.

Praveen Agarwal, head of government business, Airtel Business, said, “DIKSHA offers 9300+ courses in 35+ Indian languages and has witnessed 50+ billion learning sessions and 60+ billion minutes of usage by students, making it one of the largest free education platforms in the world. We are thrilled to partner with the Ministry of Education to bolster this crucial education infrastructure and advance its accessibility to millions of children across the country with our state-of-the-art Cloud and CDN services.”

Airtel Cloud, a part of Airtel Business, is India's leading and most trusted ICT service provider. Airtel Cloud leverages private, public and Edge Cloud to provide a complete hybrid Cloud approach to companies, governments, carriers and small and medium businesses. In addition to Cloud solutions, it also offers connectivity, data center and security services, assisting organizations in their digital transformation journeys.

The Ministry of Education's Digital India Corporation works to raise the standard of living by giving access to the benefits of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). DIKSHA, which was founded in 2017, intends to provide free access to high-quality e-content, such as e-textbooks and audiobooks, to all instructors and students across India. With an enrollment and course completion rate of 82% for its 7,200 courses, the platform has now offered over 5700 crore minutes of learning.
