A 4G and 5G spectrum auction has been announced by the Vietnamese communications regulator, and companies have two days to register from April 18–19.

To enable operators to build out 4G and 5G services in Vietnam, the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) will auction off spectrum in the 2,300–2,400 MHz band.

According to CommsUpdate, the 30 MHz of spectrum allotted to each winning bid will be split up as follows: 2300–2330 MHz, 2330–2360 MHz and 2360–2390 MHz. The initial offer will cost VND386.4 billion ($16.5 million), and the licenses will be valid for 15 years.

The Authority of Radio Frequency Management (RFD) has until today to receive interested applications. The MIC will then organize the auction.
