Nokia announced an agreement with LG Uplus to expand 5G coverage by installing new equipment from Nokia’s comprehensive AirScale portfolio across the country, enabling seamless 5G indoor and outdoor connectivity. The deal is expected to accommodate future network expansion and will further deepen the partnership between the two companies, which have already collaborated on LTE, 5G and digital projects.

Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (BPCL) and Accenture are collaborating to transform India’s second largest oil and gas company by digitally reimagining its extensive sales and distribution network. Accenture will use its capabilities in data, artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud technologies to build, design and implement a digital platform, called IRIS.

Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. announced that SoftBank Corp. has launched its 5G millimeter (mmWave) service in Japan – using devices based on Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 5G Mobile Platforms and Modem-RF Systems. 5G mmWave allows Japanese users to enjoy the fastest possible multi-Gigabit download speeds in the country. Along with the launch, SoftBank is making the “Pocket WiFi 5G A004ZT” 5G mmWave mobile hotspot available for sale. All initial 5G mmWave-compatible mobile devices in SoftBank’s portfolio, including soon-to-be announced 5G smartphones, are expected to be powered by Qualcomm Technologies’ 5G mmWave products.

Telna, the leading managed multi-network cellular connectivity platform provider with the largest LTE footprint in the world, and PCCW Global, a leading telecommunications service provider, have announced collaboration to combine the strengths of both companies and deliver fully managed connectivity solutions to Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) in Asia.

Keppel Telecommunications & Transportation’s (Keppel T&T) wholly-owned subsidiary, Keppel Midgard Holdings Pte. Ltd. (KMH), has been granted a Facilities-Based Operator (FBO) licence by the Infocomm Media Development Authority of Singapore (IMDA). The FBO licence will allow KMH to own, maintain and operate telecoms infrastructure in Singapore and to provide telecommunications services in connection with the Bifrost Cable System, which Keppel T&T is undertaking with its partners, Facebook and Telin.
