At MWC Shanghai 2021, Huawei announced that its innovative RuralStar Pro solution has been commercially rolled out in Guizhou, China. This solution is designed in accordance with the integrated access and backhaul (IAB) model, and promises to significantly lower the deployment costs associated with providing voice and mobile broadband services for remote villages.

Nepal’s National Telecommunication Authority (NTA) has determined its 5G frequency as the country prepares to deploy 5G service. NTA will follow the recommendations set out by the National Frequency Management Forum, a body initiated by the NTA, the Ministry of Communications & Information Technology (MoCIT) and telecommunications operators.

Huawei and Telefonica (Spain) have completed a pilot on wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) photonic meshes that support Telefonica's Fusion IP Network.
