Vietnam's Viettel Group has chosen Juniper Networks' MX960 Universal Routing Platform for its network refresh, a move that exhibits Viettel’s growing international footprint.

According to Juniper, the upgrades will help Viettel better scale its consumer mobile and fixed broadband services as networking demands increase, aligning with the Vietnamese government’s efforts to drive economic growth through technology.

Vietnam is home to more than 77 million internet users and has the fastest-growing digital economy in Southeast Asia. For over a decade, Viettel has relied on Juniper routing and security solutions for core, edge and metro access networks. Viettel further strengthened this partnership by selecting Juniper's MX960 Universal Routing Platform and MX-SPC3 Services Cards to enhance its carrier-grade network address translation (CGNAT) capacity in order to meet increasing traffic growth and leverage the additional processing power needed for seamless network address translation.

To competently meet the growing demand for mobile and broadband services across urban and rural areas while maximizing its public IPv4 addresses, Viettel chose to upgrade its CGNAT capabilities.

Among other key service capabilities, the upgrade allows IPv4 and IPv6 to seamlessly coexist in Viettel’s network. These upgrades have empowered Viettel to efficiently expand its consumer mobile and fixed broadband services, providing unparalleled experiences for all of its subscribers across a wide range of services such as gaming, streaming and work applications.
