KakaoBank, a prominent mobile bank in Korea, has opened an artificial intelligence (AI) lab at Digital Realty's ICN10 data center in Seoul. This partnership will help KakaoBank improve its AI services, create customized content, and carry out research and development for innovative financial offerings.

KakaoBank chose Digital Realtys ICN10 data center for its dedicated, high-performance, and resilient environment. The data center offers optimized cooling, layout, and connectivity options to support effective AI deployments. It can support up to 70 kilowatts (kW) per rack for compute-intensive tasks and utilizes innovative cooling technologies for efficient heat dissipation.

Digital Realtys modular and flexible data center design allowed KakaoBank to quickly deploy their AI solution at ICN10, with room for future scalability. The data center ensures uninterrupted operation with its redundant infrastructure and has been awarded Uptime Institute’s Tier 3 rating for maintenance without interruption.

ICN10s dedicated access to AWS Direct Connect enables KakaoBank to connect their private infrastructure to AWS’ Asia Pacific (Seoul) Region, providing secure and cost-effective connectivity. ICN10s central location and network-neutral environment offer an advantage by minimizing latency and providing connectivity options to other data centers of domestic financial institutions.

KakaoBank plans to accelerate various AI-based businesses and research to gain customers and enhance their technological capabilities. Digital Realty is committed to supporting KakaoBanks AI innovation in the financial sector.
