Fujitsu and Oracle have formed an alliance to help organizations in Japan, and their subsidiaries around the world, move their enterprise workloads to the cloud.

Nokia is to help China Mobile transition its network to a flexible cloud network infrastructure that, according to Nokia, will provide 'seamless connectivity that will more efficiently meet the ever-growing data demands of [China Mobile's] subscriber base. It has announced a one-year frame agreement with China Mobile worth 9.927 billion Yuan ($1.5b)

Bangladesh mobile network operator, Grameenphone, says it has completed the installation of 10,000 3G cell sites and now provides 3G cellular coverage to 90 percent of the population.

Asia Satellite Telecommunications Company (AsiaSat) and KBZ Gateway Company (KBZ) have forged a partnership to provide satellite-based networks serving Myanmar with high speed data connectivity services. And the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MOTC) of Myanmar is to use services on two Intelsat satellites to advance the deployment of the country's wireless communications infrastructure, and expand broadband access for businesses.

Ericsson says it has demonstrated communication with a moving vehicle at 7Gbps using prototype 5G technology and, separately, it has announced what it says is a 'world first' demonstration of 5G network infrastructure implemented using software defined networking.

Chorus and Nokia have agreed on a three-year extension of their technology partnership to further invest in New Zealand's ultra high speed broadband program. As part of the agreement, Nokia will deploy its broadband access, IP routing and optical transport technology solutions.

Intracom Telecom, the global telecommunication systems and solutions vendor, announced the signing of an agreement with Lintasarta, one of the leading and most comprehensive ICT companies in Indonesia, to supply its latest Point-to-Multipoint (PtMP) wireless system, WiBAS-OSDR along with company's network management system (uni|MS).

Ooredoo Myanmar has announced plans to launch 4G services in Yangon and Mandalay by the end of May, which will make it the first of Myanmar's mobile network operators to offer 4G.  It also plans to launch services over a larger area using additional spectrum.

Australian Stock Exchange listed international connectivity provider Superloop is looking to raise $A35.3 million ($US26.3m) through an issue of new shares to fund the expansion of its network in Asia.

Telstra has made several announcements around its global network services that it says will give customers more choice and further reinforce its network leadership position in the Asia Pacific region.
