StarHub has launched Singapore’s first 5G-capable mission critical communications solution, enabling enterprises and government agencies to communicate with specified groups of people simply by pressing a Push-to-Talk (PTT) button. Named StarHub SmartPTT, the new solution sets up an encrypted enterprise-grade network over StarHub 5G and 4G connectivity, for identified mobile phones to function just like walkie-talkies or two-way radios – boosted with crystal-clear quality, unlimited range nationwide, and first-of-its-kind ‘live’ video feeds.

StarHub and MyRepublic announced an agreement for StarHub’s wholly-owned subsidiary, StarHub Online Pte. Ltd., to acquire a majority interest in a new entity which will hold MyRepublic’s broadband business in Singapore, providing broadband services for residential and enterprise customers. Named MyRepublic Broadband Pte Ltd (MyRepublic Broadband), the new entity has been incorporated by MyRepublic.

Nokia and TPG Telecom have deployed the Asia Pacific region’s first 5G femtocell in a live network. Using Nokia’s unique modular 4G/5G Smart Node, the solution allows operators to provide their customers with superior indoor 5G coverage from a dedicated femtocell.

TPG Telecom, Singapore's fourth telco, has received IMDA approval to conduct a 5G NSA market trial using its existing spectrum holdings.  The trial signals TPG's continued network innovation and investment. Singtel has announced two major moves to unlock value from its quality infrastructure assets and advance its digital infrastructure growth strategy, first outlined in its strategic reset in May. These include a partial sale of Australia Tower Network (ATN), a wholly-owned subsidiary which operates Optus’ passive telecommunications tower infrastructure, and the creation of a regional data centre business which will in turn form part of a regional digital infrastructure platform to capture new growth opportunities arising from the digital wave sweeping Asia.

Ooredoo and CK Hutchison announced the signing of definitive transaction agreements for the proposed merger of their respective telecommunications businesses in Indonesia, PT Indosat Tbk (Indosat Ooredoo) and PT Hutchison 3 Indonesia (H3I). The merged company will be named PT Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison Tbk (Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison).

Its functionality integrates with Operator Connect for Microsoft Teams that was launched by Microsoft.
