ZTE Corporation, a major international provider of telecommunications, enterprise and consumer technology solutions for the mobile internet, together with a local operator in Pakistan, has built a base station and completed several kilometers of wireless coverage around the station at the K2 base camp for the world's second highest peak on the border between China and Pakistan, with the aim of building a strong communication network for climbers.

Nokia has announced that it has been chosen by Chunghwa Telecom (CHT) to expand the operator’s 5G network in Taiwan. The deal aims to support CHT’s objective of achieving 80 percent population coverage as well as boost 5G subscriptions to over 20 percent of its current subscriber base. The expansion will leverage products from Nokia’s AirScale portfolio to deliver enhanced connectivity for people and businesses in the southern and central areas of the country.

Nokia announced it will supply its Digital Operations software, cloud infrastructure software and AirFrame servers to enhance the nationwide network of PLDT, the Philippines’ largest, fully integrated telecommunications company, and its wireless unit Smart Communications (Smart).

GSA (Global mobile Suppliers Association) today welcomed the decision of India’s Department of Telecommunications (DoT) to give the go-ahead for 5G spectrum and trials of 5G uses and applications in the country using 3GPP-compliant technologies. The applicant mobile operators include Bharti Airtel Ltd., Reliance JioInfocomm Ltd., Vodafone Idea Ltd. and MTNL.
