Nokia signs EUR 2 billion agreements with three Chinese operators
Nokia has signed three separate frame agreements worth a combined value of more than EUR 2 billion with China Mobile, China Telecom and China Unicom. Under the agreements, Nokia will deploy technologies and services to improve performance in fixed and mobile broadband networks across China to meet ever-growing demand as operators transition towards 5G.
Nokia and Ooredoo set up 5G Centre in Myanmar University
Nokia and Ooredoo have set up the first 5G-ready Technology Centre in Myanmar. The Centre is the result of a successful collaboration with Yangon Technological University (YTU) that will be utilized by the students of Myanmar’s first diploma program in telecommunications.

Eutelsat partners with Japanese company to launch world’s first 8K channel
NHK, Japan’s national broadcaster, has partnered with Eutelsat Communications (NYSE Euronext: ETL) to launch the world’s first 8K network; BS8K. The live broadcast took place on December 2nd from the Vatican where images were transmitted to Tokyo via EUTELSAT 12 West B satellite with a mobile uplink provided by M-three Satcom. This momentous event by NHK has broken new ground for 8K contribution via satellite.

At Huawei Connect 2018, under the theme of “Power of the Platform,” Huawei Enterprise Business Group shared how its new digital platform strategy will enable governments and enterprises to accelerate digital transformation and achieve new levels of innovation and growth. HUAWEI CLOUD’s Blockchain service is officially available around the world
HUAWEI CLOUD officially launched its Blockchain Service (BCS) for global use after launching it for commercial use in China on October 10th this year. Now available on the international HUAWEI CLOUD website, the service helps global enterprises and developers create, deploy, and manage blockchain applications quickly and at minimal cost on HUAWEI CLOUD. Its global launch lays the foundations for a distributed global blockchain platform.
