Vonage, a global leader in cloud communications that helps businesses with their digital transformation, has announced the opening of the Research and Development Centre of Excellence in India. The center, located in Bengaluru, the heart of India's high-tech industry, will focus on creating new features and solutions for Vonage's business communications portfolio.

The research and development (R&D) team, led by Manjunath Lakshminarayanan, Vonage's vice president of engineering and India CoE Lead, will support the company's expansion and strengthen its presence in the Asia-Pacific region.

Lakshminarayanan stated that the new center and talent acquisition will provide Vonage with the necessary technology expertise to develop the programmable, flexible and intelligent capabilities of their Vonage Communications Platform and API portfolio. This move highlights Vonage's commitment to driving innovation and transforming the way businesses operate and engage with their customers.

Savinay Berry, executive vice president of product and engineering at Vonage, stated that in today's fast-paced world, customers expect quick and interactive communication. Vonage is not only meeting these expectations now, but also preparing to meet future needs. They are excited to announce the opening of their Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru, which will help them continue to provide innovative solutions for customers in India and around the globe.

Vonage's goal is to turn notifications into conversations, regardless of location, using their immersive engagement platform. Vonage's Communications Platform (VCP) is a cloud-based API that offers Communication Platform as a Service (CPaaS) for messaging, conversational commerce, voice, AI and video services. This platform allows developers to integrate advanced features into their applications and systems without the need for complex infrastructure or interfaces.

VCP is fully customizable and includes Vonage's Unified Communications as a Service (UCaaS) and Contact Center as a Service (CCaaS) applications. These applications enable companies to revolutionize their communication and operations, whether they are working from the office or remotely. This flexibility allows businesses to perform better and enhance customer engagement.
