PhilTower and Huawei solidify strategic partnership during the 10th Annual TowerXchange Meetup Asia in Malaysia recently, signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to advance Digital, Smart, and Green Tower initiatives. The collaboration aims to elevate innovative tower and intelligent energy solutions, bolstering both companies’ industry-leading capabilities.
PhilTower is a registered common tower provider that harnesses cutting-edge innovation and energy-efficient practices to construct shared telecommunications structures and facilities, ensuring robust outdoor and indoor coverage throughout the Philippines.
“We are committed to promoting energy efficiency while maximizing the smart use of available land and spaces with our innovative street pole infrastructures. Accomplishing this with leverage on technologies such as Intelligent Operation and Maintenance Systems shall elevate our overall site management efficiency to unprecedented levels, setting new standards for performance, sustainability, and excellence across our entire network of towers,” Devid Gubiani, President and Chief Executive Officer of PhilTower, emphasized.
"Ensuring the continuous optimal site performance is the highest priority. As part of the agreement, Huawei will therefore assist in power availability, fault recovery and sustainability with Al-assisted Digital O&M [Operation and Maintenance] systems,” Jimmy Zheng Li Mian, General Manager for Global Site Business of Huawei, said in a statement.
"PhilTower understands that in the Philippine market, there is a heightened need for meticulous site planning that takes into account precise factors such as location, available space, and local regulations. Additionally, there is a strong attention on embracing eco-friendly solutions, reflecting our company’s growing awareness of the importance of sustainability in project development,” PT Pawar, PhilTower, Chief Operations Officer, further emphasized.
“We have always and will continue supporting the Philippine market via Digital Operation Transformation. Intelligent platforms and technologies can complement Philippine site selection, evaluation and prioritization more effectively and timely,” Keke Luo, Vice President of Huawei Technologies Service Marketing & Solution Department, said in response to the statements.
During the ceremony, both parties agreed to increase their collaborative efforts to seek out additional business expansion opportunities through tactical synergies. As strategic partners of Globe Telecom, PhilTower and Huawei Philippines aim to enhance Globe's success through their partnership, ultimately contributing to greater business achievements for all parties.
As the leading digital transformation partner for towercos, Huawei is dedicated to perpetually striving and focusing on innovating network infrastructure construction and operations. By enhancing cooperation, Huawei aims to achieve faster Go-To-Market (GTM), fulfill the objective of carbon neutrality, and contribute to connecting the unconnected in the Philippines.
PhilTower, on the other hand, is committed to delivering state-of-the-art infrastructures to bolster mobile cellular coverage and high-speed internet connectivity. This initiative aligns with the Philippine Department of Information and Communications Technology’s (DICT) common tower policy and the government's focus on connecting remote communities.
