Alibaba Cloud, a leading provider of digital technology and intelligence for the Alibaba Group, has partnered with IBM to offer an all-encompassing security solution for companies doing business in the Asia-Pacific region. This partnership intends to address the growing cybersecurity concerns that businesses are facing and offer a safe and secure cloud environment as they embark on their digital transformation path. The combined solution provides real-time reporting, centralized visibility and enhanced threat detection capabilities by merging IBM's QRadar SIEM and QRadar SOAR with Alibaba Cloud's broad security capabilities.

According to IBM's X-Force Threat Intelligence Index 2023, there were twice as many threat hijacking attempts per month in 2022 as there were in 2021. Asia Pacific remained the most attacked area in 2022, accounting for 31% of all incidents. Alibaba Cloud's recent cloud poll, "The Next-Generation Cloud Strategy in Asia," also indicates Asian organizations' concerns about security threats; among the reasons for their choice of public cloud, participants cited improved security as one of their top priorities.

“To help our customers best reap the benefits of digital transformation, we need to help them create a well-protected environment so they can focus on their products and business strategies,” said Edward Cai, chief commercial officer, Alibaba Cloud Intelligence.

Mr. Cai added, “With Alibaba Cloud’s extensive experience in fending off cybersecurity risks, along with security experts from our ecosystem partners such as IBM, we are well positioned to offer our services to serve customers’ interest in the cybersecurity space.”

Charles Kiang, IBM's general manager of technology sales for APAC, highlighted the partnership's readiness to serve enterprises in the APAC markets. With IBM's proven track record in security services and products, coupled with Alibaba Cloud's expertise, the collaboration aims to provide advanced security solutions to help businesses thrive amidst uncertainty.

“With a rich portfolio of security services and products and empowered by our security experts worldwide, IBM is trusted by thousands of organisations as their partner to assess, strategise, implement and manage security transformations. Through collaboration with Alibaba Cloud, we are ready to serve many more enterprises in APAC markets with advanced security solutions and help them thrive in the face of uncertainty,” said Mr. Kiang.

Alibaba Cloud has over 130 security certificates around the world, demonstrating its commitment to international information security standards and best practices. Alibaba Cloud displays its commitment to offering reliable and secure cloud services to APAC enterprises by leveraging its significant security experience and cooperating with reputable institutions such as IBM.
