Atos has been selected as one of the strategic partners to deliver Managed Platform Services (MPS) for the South Australian Government under a 3-year Heads Agreement. The Managed Platform Services (MPS) aims to deliver data processing and storage as well as hyperscale Cloud services management.

Singtel has reorganised its structure to position the Group to capture new digital growth. Key to this is the creation of a new portfolio under its Group Enterprise division dedicated to driving 5G Enterprise business across the region by leveraging the Group’s regional footprint. The move to help businesses accelerate their digital transformation comes as companies embrace new business models and race to go digital in response to COVID-19 and the resulting changes that travel restrictions and lockdowns have had on the broader business landscape. In addition, Singtel’s ICT arm NCS, the largest ICT services provider in Southeast Asia, reports directly to the Group CEO to accelerate its expansion into Asia Pacific, with special focus on Australia and China. These changes came into effect on 1 January 2021.

ST Telemedia Global Data Centres (STT GDC), a leading data centre service provider headquartered in Singapore, announced a strategic partnership with Hyosung Heavy Industries a leading high voltage electrical equipment manufacturing and construction company in Korea, on a 60:40 basis to jointly develop and operate their first carrier-neutral data centre campus in, South Korea.

China shipped 25.2 million mobile phones in December 2020, representing a 12.8% decrease year-on-year, accounting for 94.8% of total mobile phone shipments in the month. For the whole year, smartphone shipments reached 295.7 million, declining 20.4% year-on-year. This represented 96% of total mobile phone shipments.

MediaTek has been selected to be on the test bed for Wi-Fi 6E, a new certification from Wi-Fi Alliance® for Wi-Fi CERTIFIED 6™ devices with 6GHz support.  MediaTek has both an access point wireless solution, MT7915-AP-AX, and a client-side wireless solution, MT7915-STA-AX on the test bed. These two test bed devices support unlicensed operation in the 6GHz and include many advanced Wi-Fi 6 features such as multiple resource unit (RU) sizes for optimal simultaneous OFDMA operation of multiple clients, along with other cutting-edge connectivity features.

Samsung Electronics’ operating profit for the three months that ended in December 2020 is forecast to jump 26% from a year ago, totaling 9 trillion won. Consolidated sales in the last quarter are up close to 2% from a year ago, reaching 61 trillion won. This brings Samsung’s full year operating income to 35.93 trillion won and sales to 237.31 trillion won in 2020.
