Six months after launching Singapore’s first non-standalone 5G services for consumers and enterprises, longstanding partners, StarHub and Nokia have teamed up again to deploy a new cloud-native 5G core network to manage 5G standalone (SA) bandwidth demand that has been projected to grow rapidly and tremendously.

ZTE Corporation, a major international provider of telecommunications, enterprise and consumer technology solutions for the Mobile Internet, has helped the Inner Mongolia branch of China Telecom complete the construction of directly connected nodes in the national-level Internet backbone in Hohhot, and implement device deployment and service provisioning. That indicates the successful Internet information interconnection in the region. China Telecom has made great progress in 163 backbone construction.

Nokia announced that it has launched 5G services with mobile operator, Optus at the Optus Stadium in Perth, Australia. The move provides visitors attending sporting or music events with access to incredibly fast indoor and outdoor 5G coverage with speeds over 1Gbps. Nokia has supported Optus with the deployment of the technology as well as its ambitious goals for 5G.

Asia-Pacific Telecom Co Ltd (APT) has selected Ericsson to modernize the communications service provider’s network and support with 5G Non-Standalone (NSA) Multi-Operator Core Network readiness. This includes integration with Far EasTone Telecommunications (FET) on the 3.5GHz frequency band in Taiwan.
